I love to try and include all three of my boys in holiday arts and crafts.  Sometimes having 3 different age groups it can be challenging to find something they all can do and enjoy.  I have found that classic hand and footprint art is perfect for them.  They are 4 yr, 3 yr, and 10 mo. We already did Ghost Footprint and moved onto Frankenstein handprint and footprint art next.  This was a big hit at my house.

made into a card

What we used:

black and white construction paper, green paint (I love finger paints), paper plate, black paint and marker, googly eye, glue, and q-tips.

What we did:

I put paint into a paper plate.  I placed the kids hands and feet (at separate times) into the paint and placed the print on the paper.  We had wipes and paper towels out to clean up the paint.  We let the prints dry.  That night my oldest glued his googly eyes on his Frankenstein.  He used black paint and a q-tip to paint his hair. Yes, you can paint the kids fingers black to make the hair.  Some days I don’t think about things until after.  It worked out though because he really enjoyed painting on the hair.  I  added a stitch mark and mouth with a black marker.

Footprints:

For the footprints I colored the toes in black with a marker and  made a stitch.  I also added the mouth.

Now litter brother and baby brother had footprint Frankensteins. I turned baby brothers into a card.  I cut out his footprint art and glued it to a piece of construction paper that I folded.

Now we have more fun art to hang up.  This is also a great way to go over the letter F.  This worked out great that we did this project the week big brother was talking about the letter F at school.  I just tied it in while crafting that Frankenstein started with the letter F.  I went over the colors black and green as well.  No matter what we are doing there is always a way to add a little learning fun into it.  I hope you and your kids can enjoy these classic prints as well.
