While shopping at the grocery store my toddler saw these round flavored water bottles and he kept begging to get them. I told him we could try them and we left the store with something new to try. Well, the flavored water was not a hit with either of my boys. Even though they did not like the drinks, I wanted to get my money’s worth out of these fun bottles. I started brainstorming what I would do with the bottles. After some thought and looking through the craft closet I decided on a Christmas I Spy Bottle.
What I used:
clear bottle
Christmas foam stickers from dollar tree
clear beads from craftprojectideas I got at walmart
I am considering going back and hot gluing the top on or adding duct tape to the cap to hold it on.
What we did:
My oldest toddler and I worked on this project together. I picked out a few stickers. I let my son add clear beads to the bottle (great fine motor skills activity) He was doing this one by one and after doing many he was done. He ran off to see what his oldest brother was getting into. I was busy so I left it on the microwave for later. A few days later I finally added the beads and stickers to the bottle to complete the Christmas I Spy Bottle.
I love the I Spy Bottle as it also doubles as a sensory bottle too. These bottles are great for sense of sight, sound, and touch. Great for going over the words of each item we are spying and a way to go over the colors of the stickers too. It also becomes a music instrument. As you shake it you hear the music it makes.
My toddler and I have been enjoying looking for the stickers and mostly he enjoys shaking the bottle to listen to the sounds it makes.
I also made a simple printable to go with the I Spy Bottle so we could have a list to reference what we are looking for. I hope that maybe you and your kids can enjoy this too.
