It is time for another fun Preschool Book Club post! This time we are exploring the book Beautiful Oops! After reading the kids and I decided to try some sort of art around holes. We came up with this Circle and Holes Art for Kids. The kids love any excuses to make art. So getting them to the table to work on a new art project was not trouble. Not only did they have fun making it we now have a piece of artwork to display in the house. I love the idea of having their work of art as a part of our home decor and a great keepsake for me as they grow older.

What we used:
Fiskars Round ‘n Round Sqeeze Punch Extra Larg (174140-1001)
Swingline 1-Hole Punch, 1/4″ Holes, 5 Sheets (A7074005)
Sax Concentrate Washable Liquid Watercolor Paints – 8 Ounce – Set of 8 – Assorted Colors
Neenah Exact Vellum Bristol, 67 lb, 8.5 x 11 Inches, 250 Sheets, White, 94 Brightness
Art Alternatives Canvas Panel (8 X 10) PACK OF 12
Elmer’s Washable No-Run School Glue, 5 oz Bottle, Clear (E305)
What we did:
Take white cardstock and lay it out with paint brushes for the kids. I took my watercolors and put a small amount in the bottom of an ice cube tray. I filled them up with water to dilute a little. The kids then painted with watercolors on the cardstock. Once they were done we left them to dry.
We came back the next day and the kids helped punch out circles. After we finished that they went back and punched out holes with hole puncher. Last we glued the circle and holes onto the flat white canvas. I had to place a book on top with my camera for the added weight to hold down the circles. They did not want to stay stuck on the canvas. I came back and checked a few minutes later. This worked. They were now flat on the canvas. I left it alone to finish drying.
This circle and holes art is what we were left with to hang up and enjoy. The fun colors and design will look good wherever we decide to put it. The playroom or family room? Soon it will have a home.
