Sensory Activity for multiple aged kids to enjoy- cereal in the pool

I am always trying to think of things my kids can both play with.  Today I had a few half eaten snack boxes and bags I was thinking of throwing away.  No one had been eating them and in another week they would be stale.  I had a thought of just filling up their beach buckets with the snacks and letting them play. What a great sensory substance to play with-food:-) This way if my youngest ate it it was ok.  Not like sand and rocks that my oldest loves to play with and his little brother gets left out.  So I washed their beach toys and trucks.  Then filled the buckets and put it all in their pool on the porch.  My oldest got to start playing before his brother woke up and was having a lot of fun.  When little brother was up he went out to play too.  He was more into his milk then playing but he did have fun too!

Our play.

What we used:

Coco puffs, teddy grahams, and goldfish pretzels are what they had in their buckets.

With boys you can’t go wrong with trucks and snacks, lol.

He was excited to get in and play!!

He had to taste them which was part of the sensory fun.

Scooping them up.

Filling up the trucks.

Little brother looked at it for a long time and big brother tried to feed him to let him know it was ok to try, lol.

Taste it, it is yummy;-)

Mix a little and dump a little but still holding his milk, hehe.

Must say I had fun playing with them too.  Hope you and your family can have some sensory food fun too.
Please do come and visit us again. We would love to have you back.
All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!
