We have been having lots of Halloween fun but now I am starting to think about the next holiday. What better way to start thinking about Thanksgiving than with a Sticky Paper Turkey for the kids to decorate over and over again. This easy activity was great for all 3 of my kids ages 2-6yr. I love when they all can enjoy the same things.
Sticky Paper Turkey Activity for Kids
What we used:
craft feathers we got for free from craftprojectideas.com
painters tape
sticky paper or contact paper
brown sharpie
I had to use a white foam penguin to make foam eyes.
orange foam
What to do:
Cut a piece of sticky paper the size you want. Then draw a turkey on it. I am no artist but this worked for us.
Tape the turkey to a window or wall with the painters tape. This tape removes easily without damage.
Gather feathers, eyes, beak, and feet cut out of foam and let the kids create their own turkey.
Fun way to go over colors and talk about textures with the kids. Count the feathers while adding them to the turkey. This is a great busy activity for the kids too.
I love that this activity also allows the kids to use their creativity. They create the turkey how they want it to look. We hope you can enjoy this too.
