Baking Soda Science- Fizzy Fun
I saw a picture on pinterest for this activity . The picture I pinned did not have a link but it was a little boy with a tray of baking soda and he was using a dropper to add colored vinegar to his tray. It made a bubbling foam, what fun!! I asked around and got a link to a site that shows you this activity. This is it Teach Preschool . They used a tray and put spoonfuls of baking soda on it and then used the dropper. We tried both. My son liked the tray with baking soda covering it and then using the dropper to add vinegar.
Baking Soda Science- Fizzy Fun
What you need:
vinegar, food coloring, baking soda, small bowls, pan or tray, paper towels(this does get messy) and droppers.
What I did:
put baking soda in pie dish so that it covered the bottom, got out 3 small bowls filled with vinegar and then my son helped add food coloring. I put some baking soda in a small bowl and had a small spoon. Also got out a tray for him. I then let him use the droppers to put the vinegar over the baking soda. He thought it was neat to see how it fizzed!
He drew up the vinegar with his dropper and then added it to the baking soda.
This did get really messy and I had paper towel to wipe up as we went. His hands were a little stained at the end. We washed his hand real good. He got a little on his shirt and I put stain spray on it and washed immediately and it came out.
This only took up about 30 minutes of our afternoon but he had so much fun doing it, I would say it was a huge success. Hope you can have fun with this too!!!
This is one of our favorite ways to play with baking soda and vinegar! Thanks for joining our challenge.
