How to make a candy corn handprint turkey:
I traced my sons hand with a brown marker. I colored the bottom in of the handprint. The kids can do this but I choose to do it so the whole turkey did not end up colored. I counted out enough candy corn for the craft and placed them in a small bowl. I got out glue and googly eyes too. I sat it all on the table.
I sat down with him and told him he could glue the eye and candy on the handprint to create a turkey. We have been going over the letter T is for turkey this week. So we talked about the letter T a little. Then we counted all the candy corn. We did a trial run of how many candy corn would fit in each finger outline before we glued them. We noticed that 3 candy corn fit in each one. Then he glued down the candy corn.
We left it to dry overnight. The next day we came back to get his art work. We hung it up on the wall. Now we can start getting excited about Thanksgiving as it fast approaches.
