Coconut Lime Dough- how to make for sensory play
My kids love for me to make them sensory substances to play with. Even if it is just colored rice they love it. I had done a frog pond with the kids this week and we used about a tbsp of lime jello in it. Since I had almost a whole box of open jello left I had to do something with it. I could not throw it out before we played in it some more! It took me a few days to decide what I would do with it. I began adding things from the pantry to give me a new sensory substance I call “Coconut Lime Dough”.
Coconut Lime Dough- how to make for sensory play
Ingredients/What I used:
1 C baking soda
1.5 C corn starch
1 pk lime jello(minus the TBSP we used)
1/2 c oil
1 tsp coconut extract
Few TBSP of water- you add a little at a time not to get the mix too wet.
How to make:
Add all ingredients to a bowl except water and coconut extract and mix these up. Now add the water little by little, the coconut extract and mix.
We now had our Coconut Lime dough to play with. It smelled wonderful and felt great too. The kids could not wait to start playing in their new sensory material for the day. Check back this week to see how we played with it. We hope you can enjoy it too.

It bet this smells wonderful! What a great combination of fruit scents!
How long does this last or do you toss it after they play with it? Does it have to be refrigerated?
How long is this good for, or do you toss it after they play with it. Does it need to be refrigerated.
hi, so for the later reply. we used it here http://frogsandsnailsandpuppydogtails-jaime.blogspot.com/2013/05/farm-sensory-bin.html and we tossed it after. It would probably stay well in a plastic container or ziploc bad for a week or 2. I hope that helps:-) thanks for stopping by, jaime
