Color Surprise Playdough

It is time for another fun dough recipe! Today I am sharing how we made color surprise playdough. This playdough also has a secrete ingredient that I just love. This was so much fun to make and even more fun to watch the kids as they figured out the playdough had hidden color inside. This is my new favorite dough play recipe.

Supplies/what I used:

flour

cornstarch

salt

cream of tarter

salt

avocado oil

water

food coloring

and secret ingredient my Stress Away essential oil! Young Living Stress Away Essential Oil 5 ml

How to make:

I doubled my basic white playdough recipe and added several drops of the stress away essential oil to the mix. The smell was awesome!

What we did:

Now that I had the white playdough I rolled balls of dough and placed on little paper plates. I poked my finger in the middle of the playdough to make a hole. I then added food coloring. I did this with six colors red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple.

The kids were with daddy while I made the playdough so they had no clue what was going on. They came home to balls of white playdough on plates. When I gave them gloves they started asking questions, lol.

They started mashing the dough and realized there was color inside. They thought this was so cool. Not only was the smell “stress away” but mashing up playdough is relaxing to me. Great for strengthening little hand muscles too.

Now we have bright rainbow playdough to play with. I have a fun project for the kids using our playdough. Check back to see how we use it.
