DIY Eucalyptus Spearmint Hand & Foot Scrub

My sister loves to get crafty too.  I think we get it from our mom.  She has been crafting and baking with us since I can remember.  My sister asked if I thought you all might enjoy a hand scrub recipe she tried and I told her of course.  With Mother’s Day right around the corner this would be a great gift idea.  I have also made hand scrub with my kids before so I know this will be a gift idea the kids can help make too.

I got my inspiration start from this post at Northern Cottage

You will need a jar or container of your choice. I used the half pint wide mouth mason jar (8oz)

You can find all the items at Wal-Mart.

Ingredients :

Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt Soaking Solution with eucalyptus spearmint  { I found this down the bubble bath aisle in health and beauty }

Pompeian 100% grapeseed oil { I found this on the aisle with cooking oils }
I went with the grapeseed oil because it wasn’t as greasy feeling as olive oil and it didn’t have an unpleasant odor like some other oils. Plus it’s rich in vitamin E.

Dawn with Olay hand renewal ( the white one )

Optional: a few drops of neon green food coloring

Take and scoop out the Epsom salt into your jar, fill it almost to the top leaving just a little room. {This way you know the right amount for the jar you choose.} Then dump the Epsom salt into a bowl and add the soap, oil, & food coloring. For the 8oz jar I used a little under  ½ cup of oil, about 3 TBSP soap, and 3 drops of food coloring. You can play around with the amount of oil and soap. It just depends on how you like it.   Mix well then pour into your container.

I use this stuff almost daily. It’s like a hand spa at home.  Rub about a tablespoon or more on your hands and focus on the rough dry areas. You can leave on for about 1 minute or longer. Rinse with warm water. Pat dry then apply your favorite lotion. Your hands will feel fresh, clean, and super soft. Not to mention smell great.

Hope you enjoy this DIY Hand & Foot Scrub as much as I do.
