Dr. Seuss Birthday Bash for the kids ~ kid actvity and snack
OK, so I knew it was Dr Seuss’s birthday today but I had not planned anything for us to do in celebration. Last minute this morning I started running around trying to put a little something together. Big brother was at preschool this morning and little brother was taking a nap. This is what I got: a pin the green eggs and ham on the plate game, a cat in the hat-HAT, and this afternoon I am going to get big brother to help me make some cookies and color a coloring page for him.
At Joyfully Weary you can find the hat instructions. At Seussville. com I came across the idea of pin the green egg on a plate game I decided to make my own game.
When my son got home we played our game. He thought it was fun to spin in a circle. Even more fun to make mommy spin in a circle.
The hat was a little big, but he was surprised to see I had set him up a Dr Seuss area while he was gone.
He loves birthday parties. So he was happy to have an excuse to celebrate.
This was his first time playing this style game. He seemed to enjoy it.
He loves doing everything on his own. I gave him his own cookie to decorate all on his own. Then I helped with frosting the rest. He put all the m&ms on. cookie inspiration came from this pin picture on pinterest.
Ta Da, green egg cookies. I had been wanting chocolate chip cookies, great time to make them and just jazz them up!
We had fun today. My youngest was with us the whole time but we didn’t get any pics of him. He did spin a little with us, sat while we read, and tried the hat on. No he didn’t get a cookie but there is time for that later.
Look forward to next year!
Even though we did this for Dr Seuss’s bday you can do these fun activities anytime when reading these books.
