Easy Bathroom Makeover

Our hall bathroom is the most used in the entire house by my family. It is also the bathroom our guests use when coming over to the house. It was in need of a makeover! I did not want to spend a lot of money and well, I never have much time. An easy fix was what I was looking for! When I saw the FrogTape’s Shape Tape™ I had a fun idea that would be cheap and easy for that hall bathroom. I could not wait to get started with my Easy Bathroom Makeover.
Easy Bathroom Makeover
I got to use a new product on this project. FrogTape® Shape Tape™. It is pretty neat stuff. Shape Tape™ is FrogTape® brand’s first edge treated painter’s tape. It comes in 3 fun pre-cut patterns: Chevron, Wave and Scallop. Shape Tape™ is treated with patented PaintBlock® Technology, a super absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, which helps prevent paint bleed. This makes it the best painters tape ever.
What I used:
FrogTape® Shape Tape™
red paint
plastic table cloth
scissors
What I did:
First, I put the table cloth down to try and contain the mess. I then cut the FrogTape® Shape Tape™ to fit the small shelf I took out of the bathroom. After cutting the strips I needed, I taped them down.
I used the lid of the tape to help press the tape against the surface. Once the entire shelf was taped I was ready to paint.
I had a little sidekick during this project. He was there for moral support. He had his own visions for a project with FrogTape® Shape Tape™.
This shelf was not the best thing to pick to try and paint. I tried using a roller and red paint first. It did not stick. No fault to the FrogTape® Shape Tape™. So, not willing to admit defeat, I re-taped it and grabbed my trusty spray paint.
The spray paint worked like a charm on this faux wood shelf. I sprayed over the FrogTape® Shape Tape™ and then quickly removed the tape. Yay, it worked! Now I had a artsy fartsy shelf to put back in the bathroom. The entire design of the bathroom would be centered around this shelf.
I added a mist of spray paint to the top of the shelf to give it a frosted look. I really wanted to do the entire shelf but my husband said he liked it the way it was. So, I left it.
DIY Children’s Art Display Wall
Since this bathroom now had an artsy shelf we just had to have artwork to hang on the walls. I just happen to have 3 of the best artist living with me, wink. A Child’s Art Wall seemed to be the most practical idea for decorations!
How I made the art gallery wall:
I used plastic hooks, string, clips, and some of the masterpieces my artists have made in the past. I did happen to find frame mats in a box (had no clue where they came from or why I kept them but they came in handy). I cut the artwork to fit the frames. I taped the artwork to the back of the mat. I then hung the hooks on the bathroom wall. I added string and then clipped the children’s art to the string. Now we had the perfect decorations to go with our FrogTape® Shape Tape™ book shelf creation!!
The kids and I just LOVE the new look to the bathroom. They were so excited to show off their artwork to grandma when she stopped by for a visit. I look forward to finding new ways to be inspired by FrogTape® Shape Tape™.
