Easy Family Breakfast and Pretend Play Diner for the Kids
This post brought to you by Walmart. All opinions are 100% mine.
Mornings at my house can be crazy! Between getting the kids ready for school and my husband out the door, we often forget to eat breakfast because we run out of time. I found these $1.00 off coupons for Jimmy Dean® Microwavable breakfast items online. They can be used at your local Walmart. Now we can Have a better breakfast! Since I am in Walmart all the time this was great for me. I planned to pick up some quick and yummy breakfast items on my next trip.
Easy Family Breakfast and Pretend Play Diner for the Kids
The night before my trip to Walmart I was thinking about how crazy mornings could be. I thought that if I could find a fun way to entertain the kids while getting breakfast together it might help. Of course, the quick microwavable Jimmy Dean® breakfast items would be a big help too. The idea of the Pretend Play diner was then born. This would be perfect to keep the kids busy while I got breakfast on the table.
That night I got online and created some quick and easy Guest Checks for the kids to use later that week.
We have had these before and they are so good!
I went to Walmart the next day and picked up the breakfast items with my $1.00 off coupon. I also grabbed a few extra items while in there to help set up a quick “diner” for playtime.
What I used:
2 plastic table cloths
green and white paper
paper plates and napkins
our printable Guest Checks
little clipboard
marker
And of course our Jimmy Dean® breakfast items we purchased. We went with the pancake and sausage on the stick, chicken biscuits, and english muffins.
My new favorite!
What I did:
I cut out the Guest Check for the kids and placed them on the clipboard. I then hung one table cloth in the corn where the kids table sits. I added a “Diner” sign and placed one table cloth on the table. I added the green paper as place mats with plates and napkins. Wha-la we are ready! This was such a quick and easy set up.
I just love how the Guest Checks turned out and they were a big hit with the kids.
The played customer and waiter while I made breakfast. Thanks to Jimmy Dean® this was headache free. Ready in less than 3 minutes.
They took turns asking “What do you want” and telling each other “I want…”
This was so cute to watch them while I was prepping breakfast.
I have 3 kids ages 1yr, 3yr, and 5yr. Being able to make a quick and yummy breakfast for us is ideal on our busy mornings.
Adding some fresh fruit with sprinkles is a must most mornings at my house. Sprinkles make everything better!
Now it was time to serve breakfast. Baby brother could not wait! The kids give Jimmy Dean® breakfast items 2 thumbs up. My husband and I have eaten their items before and have always been pleased. This was the first time I had tried the pancakes and sausage on the stick. It is my new favorite. The kids loved the chicken biscuits and daddy loved the english muffins. These breakfast items are also great for days he cannot eat at home. He can just take them with him on the go.
We look forward to trying more Jimmy Dean® breakfast items in the future. We also look forward to playing more pretend Diner too.

That is really cute! My kids are always going into the recycling bin to look at the boxes, never thought to use them for pretend play while preparing the food, so cute!
