Easy Granola Bars- great activity for the kids and great snack too
So I have been searching and searching for a wonderful granola recipe. I have tried a few that were good. I then came across this one and I must say it is AWESOME ( in the hamsters voice from Bolt, lol) It is so easy to make and so yummy to eat. The kids also loved that they could get in the kitchen and help make them.
Easy Granola Bars
My older boys and I love granola bars. Its quick and easy for us to have for breakfast or grab as a snack. I love that it is a healthier snack choice than some of the other stuff my boys like.
Ingredients/What we used:
oats
peanut butter
Reesce’s
pretzels
krispy treat
honey
butter
vanilla extract
How to make/What to do:
Place wax or parchment paper in a square pan. In a sauce pan add 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, and a 1/4 cup honey. Now heat until it bubbles and let it cook for about 2 minutes. Take the pan off the heat and add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. On to adding the good stuff. Mix in 1/2 cup cereal, 1/2 cup pretzels, and as many Reesces as you want. Once it is all mixed up pour it over into the pan. Press it down and then put in fridge for about 30 minutes. Once cooled you can cut into bars and eat!
So now we have one more thing marked off on our Summer Bucket List! Hope you can enjoy them as much as we do.
