Eric Carle Book List for Children

We love Eric Carle books over here.  My toddler right now is obsessed with the Very Hungry Caterpillar.  Because he loves it so much we bought caterpillars in the hopes we may see them transform into butterflies.  We also did a butterfly craft a few months ago to go with the book.  My now 4yr was once in love with Brown Bear Brown Bear to the point I hid it for a short time, lol.  Sorry, I had to, after reading it about a hundreds time a day for a few months.  No worries though. Its been back out for a long time and he still loves its, but  he also loves to mix  up his choices for books now.    I have a feeling the Very Hungry Caterpillar may have to be hidden too.  So as you can see we LOVE his books.  We do have a few more they love and Head To Toe is starting to become my tots new favorite as we read it 5 times in a row before bed, lol.  Eric Carle still has many more books then the ones we know and love.  I hope to get more of his books for the boys and I to enjoy.  If you have a favorite book or post on a book, feel free to leave it in the comment section here.

A classic in its own time,The Very Lonely Firefly is finally available in a beautiful board book format, perfect for the youngest readers and the smallest hands. What does an elephant do? It stomps its foot. Can you? From the creator of such beloved classics asThe Grouchy Ladybug and The Mixed-Up Chameleon comes this interactive story that invites kids to imitate animal movements. Watching giraffes bend their necks or monkeys wave their arms is fun, but nothing could be better than joining in. From their heads down to their toes, kids will be wriggling, jiggling, and giggling as they try to keep up with these animals!Alligators wiggle, elephants stop, gorillas thump, and giraffes bend. Can you do it? ‘ I can do it!’ is the confidence-building message of this fun-filled interactive picture book. A variety of familiar animals invite young children to copy their antics, and as they play, they will learn such important skills as careful listening, focusing attention, and following instructions. Just as alphabet books introduce the very young child to letters and simple words, From Head to Toe introduces the basic body parts and simple body movements. And in the same way that children progress from understanding simple words to reading and writing sentences and stories, so they will progress from simple body movements to dancing, gymnastics, and other sports and activities, with confidence and pleasure.
THE all-time classic picture book, from generation to generation, sold somewhere in the world every 30 seconds! Have you shared it with a child or grandchild in your life?

“The very hungry caterpillar literally eats his way through the pages of the book—and right into your child’s heart…”

“Gorgeously illustrated, brilliantly innovative…”

The chameleon’s life was not very exciting until the day it discovered it could change not only its color but its shape and size, too. When it saw the wonderful animals in the zoo, it immediately wanted to be like them — and ended up like all of them at once — with hilarious results.
Of course they do — just like me and you! From baby kangaroos, called joeys, to baby elephants, called calfs, every kind of animal has a mother. Inside this playful and colorful book you will see all sorts of different babies with their mothers, all with one thing in common: Their mothers love them very, very much — just like your mother loves you! Come right in and meet the family — the animal family, that is — in words and pictures by Eric Carle.
This beloved Eric Carle classic returns once again in a colorful new board book format. For generations, The Grouchy Ladybug has delighted readers of all ages with the story of a bad-tempered bug who won’t say “please” or “thank you,” won’t share, and thinks she is bigger and better than anyone else. As children follow the Grouchy Ladybug on her journey, they will learn the important concepts of time, size, and shape, as well as the benefits of friendship and good manners.

A big happy frog, a plump purple cat, a handsome blue horse, and a soft yellow duck–all parade across the pages of this delightful book. Children will immediately respond to Eric Carle’s flat, boldly colored collages. Combined with Bill Martin’s singsong text, they create unforgettable images of these endearing animals.

A board book edition of the best-selling story features thermographic pages and a raised spider web children can feel for themselves, which complement the book’s colorful collages and easy, rhythmic text.
