Gross Motor Water Play Ball Toss
What we used:
storage bin
soft balls(from dollar tree)
our tires but rings of some sort should work or baskets….
chalk
blue water- I added the slightest bit of food coloring to the water.
What we did:
The ball water bin was exciting by itself to the little boys. Baby brother was hands in grabbing out the soft balls. Little brother right beside him.
I took our play tires and set one down and one up for the boys to throw the balls in and through. I hung up a few towels to try and keep a few balls from going out into the yard. It did help some.
Beware do not let baby brother sit down in front of the tires. Note no baby was hurt during this activity.
The photo above is priceless to me. I love that “I want to beat you up” look on baby brother’s face, lol. You can see that I took the chalk and drew a line for them to stand on when throwing the balls.
We did this at the beginning of spring, can you tell. The boys have on pants. Most days now its their underpants only. Gosh, it is hot here!
We have a large toy bin on the deck. The kids love to dive in and bring out the toys or items they want for playtime. I love that they have this freedom to pick and choose what is fun for them. They grabbed some water shooters and a weed eater. Great day to work on their gross motor skills, explore their senses with the water, and have fun bonding as brothers do while tossing a ball around.
