Homemade Hand Sanitizer Recipe

I love trying out diy products.  So when I came across hand sanitizer that was great for kids and nursing mom’s I was excited and ready to try it out.  I would like to try the one with alcohol one day but haven’t gotten around to it yet.  In this post you will see the decorated container I put the Homemade Hand Sanitizer  in for my friend.  

Homemade Hand Sanitizer Recipe

 

I had been taking store bought hand sanitizer and decorating the bottles and gifting them to teacher, principles, family members, and my son’s pediatrician’s office. I did this during Christmas.  People that use it on a daily basis.  I thought it was a great idea to jazz up something that sits on their desk or counters anyways.  I will try to get some pictures of the ones we have and post them later.  The No Ordinary Homestead had the recipe I followed for Making Homemade hand sanitizer.

Supplies for Homemade Hand Sanitizer Recipe: 

*1c pure aloe vera gel –Fruit of the Earth Aloevera 2 Ounce Gel – 4 Pack

 

*1-2 tsp witch hazel –Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Pore Perfecting Toner, 100% Natural, 16 Fl. Oz.

 

*1/4 tsp pine and lavender essential oils (this combo is what makes it sanitize) –Plant Therapy Fir Needle Essential Oil 10 mL (1/3 oz) 100% Pure, Undiluted, Therapeutic Grade  Plant Therapy Lavender Essential Oil 100% Pure, Undiluted, Therapeutic Grade 10 mL (1/3 oz)

 

If you are not a nursing mother or pregnant you can use tee tree oil.  You can add more scents to this it says but I thought the 2 together was very strong! 

*Plant Therapy Tea Tree Oil Organic (Melaleuca Essential Oil) 100% Pure, Natural, Therapeutic Grade 10 mL (1/3 oz)

 

How to make Homemade Hand Sanitizer Recipe :  

*mix the ingredients together and put in container or pump to store.

*If you are just looking for a good smelling and cheap hand sanitizer add essential oils you like to your store bought hand sanitizer.  I have done that too.

*The gift was a hit with my friend.  We also enjoyed it too.
