How To Make “Carrots” Strawberries for Easter

I love making fun treats with my kids.  Making yummy and cute holiday treats brings extra fun to the kitchen.  My oldest is now 5 yr and we have been in the kitchen together since he could hold a spoon in his highchair.  I have great memories of helping my mom in the kitchen as a kid so I love that now I can make lasting memories with my kids too.

With spring and Easter on my mind and a few baskets of strawberries in the fridge we made chocolate covered strawberries ” Carrots”.  Perfect springtime or Easter treat to make with the kids.

I had a chance to spend some time with my oldest making these Carrots and it was like old times, just me and him, in the kitchen.  Do not get me wrong I love making treats with all my kids. However, this moment was just nostalgic for me.

What we used:

white chocolate

strawberries

wax paper

orange gel food coloring

What we did:

We had already washed the strawberries and left them on a towel to dry.  When we got ready to make them we added white chocolate bark to a measuring cup and melted.  Follow directions on back of packaging.

Once melted, we added the food coloring and mixed well.  I then poured this over into a small bowl.  We dipped the strawberries in the bowl to cover.

We packed them on the wax paper to dry.  A few of them never made it to the wax paper, lol.

My son and I really enjoyed our quality and one on one time together.  We both love making treats together.  And even more tasting them in the end.

These strawberries may not have turned out picture perfect but that is ok.  Not everything we do is perfect but the time we spent to together and the memories we made were perfect to me.
