Name Frames- Fun To Make & {help kids learn their names}

We have been working on name recognition and spelling over here.  Big brother is doing great and little brother is trying hard.  The more fun activities we find to go over the names the better.  Making a name frame is just one fun activity that does that.

What we used

wooden name frames( from walmart)

paint

paint brush

yellow cardstock

foam sheets( and cut out foam letters)

What we did

I let the kids paint the frames how ever they wanted.  After drying, I cut a piece of yellow cardstock out and added it to the frame.  Last, I had my husband help me trace and cut out foam letters from foam sheets ( from dollar store) to add their names to the cardstock.  I think you can buy foam  letter stickers that would work great too.

I let the boys help me hang them on their bedroom door once they were finished.  I just love how they turned out.  They boys are proud of them since they painted them own their own.  Now they look at their names every time they go to their rooms.  We often stop and spell them out loud as we enter.

As always we hope you and your kids can have fun with this idea too.
