New Twist To Painting With Apples
We did traditional apple painting last year and made apple prints. It is a lot of fun. Since I have a 4 yr and 2 yr this fall, there are a lot of things that maybe little brother didn’t get to do last year that big brother did. Apple painting was one of them. We had a bag of apples that didn’t get eaten up fast enough. I had planned to do apple prints with my tot. However, I came up with the idea for apple slide painting instead. It was a hit with the little guy and I think big brother will love it too. He was at school this day so he has yet to get out and try this type of painting. I look forward to doing it with big brother in the future.
Let me go ahead and say sorry for the picture overload in this post. The pictures kind of speak for themselves as to what we did.
What we used:
Poster board, finger paint, tape, apples, and bucket of water(this is for the end).
He couldn’t wait to let that apple roll! He thought this was so exciting. A fun new way to paint for us.
And off it goes, lol.
What we did:
We tried two techniques to our apple slide painting.
First technique: we squirted paint on to the poster board on the ground. We put it under the slide. Little brother took all the apples to the top of the slide and let them all roll. We did this over and over so yes it got messy! The bucket of water comes in handy for my little guy who has to wash his hands off.
Second technique: we tried adding tape to the poster board and hanging it on the slide. He then rolled the apples down that a few times.
We really enjoyed our time together painting with apples. Here is his finished painting.
We continued playing by washing off the apples and the slide. Not to mention both of us. A quick rinse and clean up and we were done.
How is it you come up with all these awesome ideas? lol. I love regular apple prints but this just takes it to a whole other level. My 4-year-old would love it 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
So fun!!
