Sand playdough recipe with construction play theme
Recently there has been a lot of sand playdough posts on pinterest… It looked like so much fun. My 3 yr loves sand and playdough. So this play recipe should be a hit with him. I can not wait to see what he thinks about it.
Sand Play Dough on Two Big and Two Little was my inspiration for this post.
What you need:
sand
flour
water
I used baby oil.
What I did:
Get everything together to make the playdough. Then get your kid/kids to help mix it up. He had a lot of fun feeling the different textures in the bowl as we added more ingredients. We finally had it all mixed up.
I put out a towel and tray for his playdough and toys. I only put out about half of the playdough. I have the other half in a Ziploc bag. Will see if it is any good later. I got out some toys, trucks, and rocks and added them to the tray. Then let him have at it!
He had so much fun with this. I think this is his favorite playdough ever. He played with this on and off all day long. And was still playing with it the next day.
Playdough is great for sensory play. We love sensory play because it is a great hands on way to learn. This activity was great for pretend play, exploring textures, working on vocabulary, talking about construction workers, problem solving, and just having fun.
