St Patrick’s Day: Lucky Charms Cupcakes

We love finding fun treats to make for the holidays and these lucky charms cupcakes are just that.
I got this idea from the party animal blog.  We used the sites printable cupcake wrappers and clovers.  My kids and I had a lot of fun baking as we always do.  And I loved the way the cupcakes came out too.

What we used:

1 box cake mix-mine was the confetti kind.  Green food coloring, green sprinkles, vanilla frosting, cupcake liners, lucky charms cereal.

What we did:
bake the cupcakes as the box tells you.  When the mix is in the cupcake liners add a little green food coloring and swirl with a tooth pick.  After baking let cool. I put the cupcake wrappers on and then add frosting and Green Sprinkles.  Put your lucky charms cereal on the top now.  Last add the clovers.  Ta Da, yummy and very cute cupcakes.  Time to eat.
If you use the printable clovers , you will need tooth picks to glue them on. I did this before I started baking with a hot glue gun.
We both love the Kitchen aid.
Little brother watching to make sure we do it right!

Adding the food coloring to the cupcakes was a lot of fun.  After dropping in the food coloring he gave it a swirl with a tooth pick.

The cupcakes when they came out of the oven had a fun swirl design.  I hated to add frosting to them but we did.  Big brother really liked putting the cereal on because he could eat as he worked, haha.
