Tape Resistant Pour Paint Pumpkin Decorating
One of the great things about this project is that kids of multiple ages can enjoy it and work on it at the same time.
What we used:
Pumpkin, multiple colored paints (we got ours at walmart), painters tape, poster board, tray, and 2 eagar boys to get this pumpkin painted.
I like to sit everything out for a project before we get started. I should have gotten out wipes and paper towels as I do with most art projects but forgot those this time. Thank goodness my husband was home so I was able to get him to bring some out for us.
What we did:
I placed tape on the pumpkin to look like eyes, nose, and mouth.
Then the kids opened the paint and started squeezing it on top of the pumpkin. All the colors started to drip down the sides and looked so beautiful.
I was getting really excited about how the pumpkin was going to look and the kids were having fun and making a mess. I was ok with the mess as it was minimal for us. Then little brother had his own idea of how we should finish the project. He started to finger paint the face of the pumpkin and smeared all the colors in. It was ok though. He was just creating his own art. You can never know what to expect when doing arts and crafts with the kids.
Now that the pumpkin was covered in paint we went to wash up. I left the pumpkin to dry.
