Thankful Banner for Thanksgiving- to make with the kids
What we used:
foam leaves from dollar section at Target, brown yarn, sharpies, and tape.
What to do:
I let the kids color a few leaves while I wrote things we were thankful for. It was a lot of fun to hear some of the kids suggestions for things they were thankful for. I put holes in the leaves with a hole punch. After writing out the words and the kids finished coloring, I had the boys help me sort the leaves out by pattern. Also a way to sneak in some learning. Last, I threaded the yarn through all the leaves. Kids can do this part but we were in a hurry before school, so I quickly got it done. Now I just used tape and hung it from our fireplace.
I just love the colors and alternating sparkle and matte.
I had not planned to let the kids color over the sparkle side of he leaves but of course they did anyways. However, it turned out nice.
Just love that big brother picked being able to play as something to be thankful for.
