I was so excited when my friend Leanna from All Done Monkey pitched the idea of an ABC series to me. I had been wanting to do something like this for a while and her ideas were amazing. She worked hard to put this together. With the help of some other amazing moms from the KBN you will have tons of brilliant ideas on each letter and a link at the bottom of each. A different amazing blog each day will bring you a post on a new letter and more ABC resourse posts too. You can follow along with past posts and future posts in this series at Leanna’s HOME PAGE HERE.
Our Post Today is on the letter L. I decided with a house full of boys what else would L stand for than LEGOS. We had a lot of fun exploring the letter L.
We started with a little lego print making. This is the simple Letter L is for Lego craft we did. What we used: Finger paint, paper plate, cardstock(that I drew a letter L on), legos (by the way we have the “mega blocks” but my boys call them legos). Having extra paper and a few wet wipes out is a plus.
What we did: I set out the paper plate with paint and only 2 legos. One per kid. I did one print to show them what we were doing and then let them make lego prints on the letter L. Once they completed this they moved on to large sheets of paper. This gave them the freedom to mark away anyway they wanted.
As you can see little brother was having a lot of fun with this. Big brother enjoyed it too. Right now paint and chalk are 2 of little brothers favorite things. So this craft was perfect for him.
After finishing up with our craft we had to move on to dinner and baths. The next day we came back and talked about the letter L again. We talked about other words that start with the letter L and went over the sound. Then I got out the Letter L Sensory Bin I made them full of legos. This was a huge hit.
They both played with the legos and a box of alphabet magnets we have from Leap Frog.
Big brother was having lots of fun making all kinds of letters out of the legos and little brother was in heaven with the Leap Frog alphabet magnets.
We had one last fun way to play with the legos. We made lego prints in playdough as well. This is great for their fine motor skills and well, just a lot of fun.
I hope you and your kids can have a little letter L fun too. Maybe one of these activities would be a hit with your child or children. If you have a letter L post please link it up below to build a great resource here for parents, teachers, and caregivers to use to help teach kids about the letter. Can’t wait to see them.
Hi! I am Jaime, mama to three high energy boys. With three boys, life never slows down, but I wouldn't have it any other way! We love creating, learning, and crafting together and we can turn anything into an adventure.

What kid doesn’t like playing with legos?? I love all the fun ways you used them to learn the letter “L” – especially the print making! My son isn’t very into crafts right now, but he loves painting and I think he would really enjoy this and your other activities. Thank you so much for participating in this series but more than that for brainstorming about it with me! I love collaborating with you on these fun projects 🙂
