Excited to be teaming up with House Of Burke to bring you Transportation Tuesdays. For the next 4 weeks we will bring you a new craft and activity on a certain transportation theme. This week we are starting with planes!
Clothespin Airplane Craft
I have been wanting to try this classic airplane craft with the boys for some time. We finally had the chance to make them. It ended up just me and big brother making them but this is a great toddler craft too.
What we used:
clothespins, paint & mini popscicle sticks (that craftprojectideas sent us), paint brush, paper plate, and glue.
What we did:
I gave my son (4.5 yr) a plate with paint and a brush. He painted the clothespins and popscicle sticks for us. I went back once dried and added an extra coat. You dont have to but I thought they could use it. Once dried for the last time he came and glued the wings (mini popscilce sticks) on the plane bodies(clothespins). We left them so the glue could dry.
Now we have fun and bright colored clothespin airplanes. They can play with them or we can use them to clip anything we would with a plain clothes pin.

This week we have both an activity and craft to share. I cant say for sure that will be the case each week. But each week you will at least get one or the other from us. The great thing is you also get to see what fun transportation ideas House Of Burke has to share as well.
Airplane Activity Mat
What I used:
plastic place mats we had, chalk paint, chalk, and toy planes and cars.
What we did:
I took the place mats and spray painted them with chalk paint. I applied a few coats. When they had dried, I drew on them with chalk. Now the kids had fun place mats to play on while at the table. I have to admit though the mats did not come out as well as I wanted them too. The paint started to peel when I drew on them with chalk:( However, the kids love them anyways!
Head over to House Of Burke to see what fun airplane activities they did this week! I can’t wait to see what they came up with.

So fun! I’ve been wanting to make those planes with my little guy, too. Now that big sister is at school all day, we may just get around to it!
