Snowflake Number Jump Activity
My kids never sit still for long and jumping around is one of their favorite things to do. Since they like jumping so much I set them up with a simple snowflake number jump activity one afternoon. This way they could work on learning their numbers and improve their gross motor skills too. My kids love to learn on the move. They had a lot of fun with this activity.
Snowflake Number Jump Activity
Supplies for snowflake number jump activity:
foam shaped snowflakes- I found mine at the dollar store
sharpie markers
painters tape
How to make:
Take the foam snowflakes and write out numbers 1-10 on them. You can modify this activity and do shapes or letters… Once you have your numbered snowflakes grab the painters tape. Place tape on the bottom of the foam snowflake. Tape them to the floor numbers 1, 2, 3… until you get to 10.
Now let the learning fun begin. My 3 and 4yr lined up at the number 1 snowflake and then jumped and called out the number as they went. Great for counting, number recognition and introducing numbers to the younger child. All in all they both worked on their large muscle as they jumped number to number. Great for improving gross motor skills.
