Salami and Banana Pepper Stromboli
Another fun week of cooking with the kids. This week we are on P is for Pepper! I have been wanting to try Stromboli for some time now and this was a great push to do it. We are big fans of salami and banana peppers already so why not combine them to make Stromboli. This recipe was so easy and it turned out to be so good. Salami and banana pepper Stromboli will now be on our dinner rotations. This is even great for lunch. Another fun day in the kitchen and another yummy meal eaten.
Salami and Banana Pepper Stromboli
Ingredients/what we used:
salami
pizza crust- you can make your own dough too.
banana peppers
shredded Italian cheese blend- you can use your favorite cheese.
butter
garlic and herb salt
Another thing I like about this recipe is that we already had everything on hand in the kitchen. You can make your own dough, buy fresh peppers, etc. and I thought about this. However, I took the easy road this day and just grabbed stuff we already had and went for it.
I placed foil on a cookie sheet and preheated the oven first. I followed the direction on the crust can. Be sure to spray cooking oil on the foil. Now spread out the dough.
Sprinkle as much or as little cheese on as you wish.
Place slices of salami on top of the cheese.
Now add the banana peppers to the meat and cheese. Last roll the dough over.
I decided to add a little butter and garlic/herb salt on the top. This is optional.
Now place in the oven and bake. The can said 14 minutes but I think we ended up with 20 minutes. I waited until the top was brown. Once brown pull out and let cool a few minutes. Then cut and serve.
I just loved the flavor of the meat and peppers together. One kid loved it, one kid wanted cheese only, and one opted not to taste it(he doesn’t eat a lot of meat). My husband and I give it 2 thumbs up. Next time I might make a meatless version to go with this one so everyone can enjoy it.

I always used frozen pizza dough for our stromboli but then you have to let it rise and sometimes I forget. I’m doing this from now on!
