Mini-sombrero craft for cinco de mayo
I found the idea for our cinco de mayo craft here http://crafts.kaboose.com/mini-sombrero.html. I wanted to make something with my son for the Mexican Holiday coming up, it also happens to be my birthday! I got this craft from a post I did a few weeks back giving a list of links with cinco de mayo crafts…. I chose one of the simplest ones I could find. We have been out of town and simple and fast sounds good to me. Here is what we did.
Mini-sombrero craft for cinco de mayo
What you need:
small paper plate, and small paper cup(I had both of these from my son’s bday party a few wks ago), pom poms, glue, and string, pipe cleaner, ribbon, or yarn.
What to do:
take cup and glue to plate. (if you do not have matching colors or want to change the color of paper goods you can paint them) Add some yarn or pipe cleaners around cup. Then take and glue pom poms around plate.
My son wanted his puff balls inside the plate, they should be on the outside. But you know it made him happy. No need in being picky it was his craft! When he’s happy mommy is happy. I just enjoy spending time with him and seeing this sweet smile!
These are his hats he made. Hope you can also have some fun making these with your children. Would be great decorations for a fiesta!
