Pumpkin Spice Scented Pumpkin Volcano for Kids

What we used:

small pumpkin

baking soda

vinegar

Kraft Jell-O Instant Pudding Dessert & Pie Filling, Pumpkin Spice, 3.4 Oz. Box

Clear Plastic Compartment Serving Tray 12-inch

What to do:

First cut a hole in the middle of the pumpkin.  Scoop out some of the seeds… You want a small empty hole inside the pumpkin.

Mix the baking soda and the box of pudding together in a bowl.  Fill the pumpkin with this mixture.

I took a measuring cup and filled with vinegar, orange food coloring, and pumpkin spice.

I placed the pumpkin on a tray and the tray on a plastic tablecloth. I gave the kids a few droppers and let them take over.

They would get so excited each time the pumpkin fizzed.  This is a great hands on science experiment for the kids.  

This activity is great for sensory explorations.  Touching the pumpkin and the fizz, smelling the pumpkin spice, watching the reaction….

The kids could not get enough of it. They had a fun afternoon playing with their Pumpkin volcano.
