What better way to celebrate Star Wars Day than with a fun Tatooine Desert Sensory Bin!  Today is May the 4th or Star Wars day.  May the 4th or may the force, lol.  Just love the play on words.  As the boy of 3 boys we have no shortage of Star Wars toys, shirts, DVDS…  I am sure if we had girls we would still have Star Wars all over too.  After all I am a girl and I love Star Wars.  However, I think my husband is a bigger fan.  Today I am not alone in celebrating this glorious day.  At the end of this post you will find fellow fans share their fun ideas for the kids.

What we did/ how to make:

We collected the ingredients for the sand cloud dough and mixed those in our plastic bin to start.  Since these toys were new (a birthday gift for one of the kids),  I cut the backdrop out of the box to add to our bin.  Not necessary but fun. I placed the backdrop scene in the back of the sand cloud dough sensory bin.  I then added the toys/figurines ( Darth Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn and Anakin Skywalker).  Now it was playtime!

My kids are now 2yr, 4yr, and 6yr.  They all loved playing in this bin.  The fun texture of the sensory dough and of course the fun Star Wars characters.  They battled the “good” guy against the “bad” guy.  They used the light sabers to trace in the sand dough, they molded it… Whatever came to mind they tried.  A fun, free play activity for the kids to explore and enjoy.
