Chicken and Dumplings Pot Pie
One night my husband wanted dumplings and I wanted pot pie. So why not take both recipes and mix them together a bit to get a chicken and dumplings pot pie. That way we both got something different but similar to what we wanted to eat. The kids love this recipe and I look forward to making it again.
Chicken and Dumplings Pot Pie
Ingredients/what we used:
chicken broth
can potatoes
frozen vegetables
milk
cream of chicken with herb soup
butter
bisquick
chicken breast
How to make:
I started out by boiling my chicken breast in a pan on the stove. I let it cool and shredded it up in a bowl. I got a casserole dish out and sat on the counter. I poured the chicken in the bottom of dish. In another bowl I mixed the box of broth and can of chicken soup together. I mixed 1 cup of milk and 1 cup of bisquick in another bowl. Now take the bisquick mix and pour it over the chicken. Now take your soup mix and pour it in the dish. Do NOT stir any of this.
Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes or until brown. Light brown or golden top not dark brown and burnt, lol.
Once brown take out of the oven and let cook about 10 minutes and then serve. Since my hubby is not big on the vegetables in the dish, I steamed the vegetables and left them on the side to add to mine. He got chicken and dumplings and I got more of a chicken pot pie.
Even 2 of the 3 kids loved it! That is a win for mommy. We will be making this Chicken and Dumplings Pot Pie again in the future.
