Apple Scented Frozen Baking Soda and Vinegar Science
I put a white plastic table cloth down under the bin too.
To get started fill a few bowls with vinegar and food coloring. I chose red and green. Place them in the freezer. I left them over night.
This bin is perfect for showing how baking soda and vinegar react together. Go over colors and see what happens when they mix together(color recognition and color mixing). Great for sense of touch, sight, and smell.
The kids turned them into building block and stacked them one on top of another. You can go over counting… So many ways to incorporate hands on learning during playtime.
The kids were enjoying the fizzing and building when playtime was cut short because one of the kids was ill. As fellow parents, grandparents, or teacher you know kids go from playing to laying in the floor in minutes. That is what happened to little brother. Poor guy is feel better now that the bug has passed. The kids were having so much fun playing with the Apple Scented Frozen Baking Soda and Vinegar that we will have to try again soon.
We hope you can have fun with this idea too.
