Taste Safe Finger Paint
All of my kids, as babies and toddlers, have loved to put things in their mouth and chew on almost everything. With this in mind, when I do activities with all 3 of my kids, I have to try and find ways to be able to include them all. What the older boys can do the youngest might not be ready for. I often find though no matter what I set up for baby brother, the bigger kids will always join in, lol. This taste safe finger paint was the perfect way for me to let my youngest enjoy a sensory art project without the worry of him ingesting lots of paint. We have tried other taste safe play recipes over the years and they always seem to be a hit with my kids. Even if they are not tasting it.

How to make taste safe finger paint:
This is so simple I know! We had applesauce cups the kids did not care for. I did not want them to go to waste so I made paints for baby brother with them. I added food coloring to the applesauce cups and mixed well. Now it was time to paint.
He was so excited to get messy and paint. He had a really great time. Both older kids had to try it out too. The loved exploring the texture of the paint in their fingers. This is also a great time to go over colors with the kids. I would ask what color is this paint? And the older kids would answer. Great way to get baby brother thinking about colors too.
