Reindeer Popsicle Stick Ornament
My kids love to make homemade ornaments for the Christmas tree. Last year they got their own artificial tree for their room just to decorate with their collection of ornaments. As time goes on some of the past ornaments have had to be trashed because they did not hold up or the glitter falls off… So each year making a few new ones is always fun for us. This year we decided to try a few classic Popsicle stick ornaments. This Reindeer Popsicle Stick Ornament was easy to make and cute too. Now the kids can enjoy a few new decorations on their tree.
Reindeer Popsicle Stick Ornament
Supplies/what we used:
- brown paint
- Popsicle or craft stick
- googly eyes
- red sequins
- ribbon
- glue
- hot glue gun
- black sharpie marker
- black pipe cleaner – thanks craftprojectideas.com for the pipe cleaners
How to make a Reindeer Popsicle Stick Ornament:
To start let the kids paint the craft stick with brown paint. Leave the craft sticks to dry. Once dry come back and start gluing on stuff.
I took the black pipe cleaner and cut down to make antlers. I took one piece and wrapped another around it to look like antlers. I glue the antlers on with the hot glue gun. The kids glued on the googly eyes. Then glued on the red nose or sequins. I cut a piece of ribbon and used the hot glue gun to glue this on too.
Now the kids took their Reindeer Popsicle Stick Ornament and hung it on their Christmas tree. They just loved this simple handmade ornament and I do too.
